This can leave us feeling OVERWHELMED, like we’re constantly trying to keep too many plates spinning and fearing the inevitable crash.

Solution focused hypnotherapy in Bedford
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a safe, modern type of therapy that is based on neuroscience. It involves both talking therapy(psychotherapy) and hypnotherapy. Anxiety tends to build up gradually and when it does we spend more time thinking from the negative, obsessional and vigilant part of our brain.
This is why it can feel like negative thoughts are a CONSTANT companion. When eventually one negative thought disappears it seems like there’s always another one keen to take its place.
Unlike other forms of therapy, rather than focusing on your problem, our talk focuses on how you want to think, feel and act in the future. Your brain is constantly changing. It’s building up new connections all the time. By focusing our talk on your desired future you build up new pathways in your brain.
Using hypnosis at the end of your session enables your subconscious mind to define and build those pathways more QUICKLY and enabling positive transformation to take place.
Within just a few short weeks your thinking changes, so that instead of thinking from the negative and emotional part of your brain, you are able to think from the positive, rational and intellectual parts. This allows you to find RELIEF from whatever type of anxiety you are currently suffering from. As there is no anxiety in this part of your brain, you break free from the cycle of negative thinking and instead can look forward to thinking positively about your future.
Just imagine what you could ACHIEVE without your anxiety holding you back!
Achieving transformation doesn’t have to be hard, it’s as simple as;
You learn what’s happening to make you feel the way you do and how together we can quickly make you better.
We work together each week to bring about positive change helping you move towards your desired outcome.
You’ve completely changed your way of thinking, allowing you to enjoy living the life you want.
Hypnotherapy in Bedford for children
Are you worried about the effect that stress and anxiety is having on your child? Perhaps you are seeing them withdraw from activities they used to enjoy or are witnessing them respond to situations with anger and frustration more frequently. Maybe damaging habits have now taken hold and are NEGATIVELY affecting family life.
Solution focused hypnotherapy can be extremely effective in helping children from around the age of 7 upwards to find relief from their condition. As it is outcome and future-focused there is never any need for them to analyse and discuss the actual problem jusy areas that they’d like to see improvement.
This allows your child to become ENGAGED in their therapy as they are able to imagine and describe their future when the problem no longer exists. Stress and anxiety is unfortunately all too common in children. Statistics show that 3 in 4 mental illnesses start before the age of 18, with 2 in 4 being evident before the age of 14. The services CAMHS offers are under so much pressure that most children will no longer qualify for treatment.
My experience of being a teacher for the last 17 years paints a similar picture. Whilst there has without a doubt been a rise in the prevalence of children’s mental health conditions, there just aren’t the resources to help each child.
I love helping children take CONTROL of their anxiety so they can reach their POTENTIAL and make a positive improvement to their lives!
You can find out more information on how we can use techniques such as hypnotherapy to help your child get more enjoyment out of life by using the links below.

Why am I anxious?
Anxiety is created when we worry or think negatively about a situation or event. You can WORRY about things that have happened in the past, present, or may happen in the future.
Perhaps you find that you spend much of your day negatively forecasting the future, worrying about what might happen.
Your mind can’t tell the difference between imagination and reality, so if you think the outcome is likely to be negative your brain will accept that as fact. You’re activating your fight/ flight response which will mean that you find it difficult to switch off and RELAX.
When you are anxious you can’t think with logic, reason or intellect. You think from a part of your brain that is negative. It will always see things from the worst possible perspective.
It’s constantly in a state of high alert looking out for the next thing to worry about. It’s common for people to feel as though they’re caught in a vicious circle, feeling like they are TRAPPED inside their heads with negative thoughts spinning around constantly making relaxation impossible.
TOGETHER we can quickly CALM your mind so you can look forward to making the most of your life!

Other common questions
How does hypnotherapy differ from using other types of treatment?
Hypnotherapy differs from other forms of treatment as it primarily works with the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is very powerful and responsible for around 97% of our thoughts. Hypnotherapy is a natural form of treatment that requires no additional medication for it to be effective.
With solution focused hypnotherapy we focus on the goals and outcome you want to achieve rather than the behaviours or the problem that you’re looking to change. This makes it particularly attractive for people who are not looking to drag up issues from the past.
How many sessions will I need?
Whilst it is not possible to give an exact number, most people achieve the improvement they are looking for within 3 to 9 sessions. You will be given support until the point you have overcome the problems that you first presented with.
Can everyone be hyptonised?
Yes, everyone has the ability be hypnotised if they wish to. No one can be hypnotised against their will. Hypnosis is not mind control, it’s just a form of deep relaxation. Some people may take longer to achieve this level of relaxation but everyone has the ability to be hypnotised.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
No. Hypnosis is a state of focused attention. All hypnosis is in fact self hypnosis which means that you will remain in control at all times.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural daydreaming state that we go into each day. It’s a state of deep relaxation. When the brain experiences these levels of relaxation it is better able to take in and act on suggestions for positive change.
What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution focused hypnotherapy is a collaborative process that combines talking therapy with hypnotherapy. It’s a very positive form of therapy as my questions are focused on how you want to think, feel and act in the future. At the end of every session, I will guide you into a relaxed trance state. During this time your brain will be working to build up the neural pathways necessary to move you toward the desired future we’ve just discussed.
Does hypnotherapy have any known side effects?
Hypnotherapy uses the state of hypnosis to enable people to make positive changes. Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state that we go into regularly each day. When a person is guided into a state of hypnosis by a hypnotherapist they will go into a deeper level of relaxation than they would do normally. As a result, it is not recommended for people who experience conditions such as psychosis.
What conditions can be treated with hypnotherapy in Bedford?
Hypnotherapy is an extremely adaptable form of therapy. Amongst other things it can be used to help people: overcome addictions and bad habits, improve their confidence and self-esteem, stop smoking, achieve weight loss, find freedom from fears and phobias, sleep well and lower their anxiety levels.
Can hypnotherapy help with anxiety in Bedford?
Hypnotherapy has proven to be a really effective approach for people who are suffering from a range of anxiety disorders. It can utilise a number of different techniques in order to help healing and achieve a positive transformation.
