“I’d love to help you turn your hope into reality”
I’m a fully qualified and insured hypnotherapist who specialises in helping people to overcome anxiety, so they can look forward to enjoying life with confidence.
It’s very probable at the moment that life just feels overwhelming. You know that you don’t want to continue feeling this way, but you’re not sure what you need to do to regain control. What you are feeling right now is a perfectly normal response to anxiety. What you are currently experiencing need not be permanent, you really don’t need to feel this way for much longer. Your brain is just working against you at this particular moment in time.
Our time together is spent getting it back working for you, enabling you to calm you mind and enjoy life free from self-limiting thoughts and beliefs. This is a much simpler and easier process than you can ever imagine.
No doubt you’ve reached a point of reflection. You know you would like to feel better but you’re uncertain about how to make it happen. I have helped many clients just like you to gain freedom from their anxiety, enabling them to become the best version of themselves.
I’m Ian Murton HPD, DSFH, AfSFH Reg, NCH Reg, CNHC Reg. I am proud that my training, qualifications and experience has meant that I meet the strict criteria required to be an approved therapist for Anxiety UK. Supporting people while they make positive change in their lives is what I do best!
“Anxiety started to negatively affect all aspects of my life”
At 46 years old I never expected to be made redundant from my job as a PE teacher. Whilst I’d never truly thought I’d found my vocation in teaching, I really did enjoy working with children and seeing them progress. I also hoped I would move on when I was ready and had lined up my next move.
It soon became apparent that I was both too old and too expensive to find another permanent teaching post. Seemingly I was no longer of any use to the industry I had been working in for the last 15 years. I did manage to secure some short term contracts for the next couple of years, but knew that this offered no job security. It was just a sticking plaster.
I’d never really suffered from anxiety before as I’d always managed to look on the bright side, but this time was different. The responsibility of being the main provider to my family took its toll. Negative thoughts and self-doubt started to creep in affecting my confidence. My outlook changed from one of positivity to one of negativity, affecting most aspects of my life. I felt trapped.
I’d experienced the benefit of hypnotherapy in the past. After smoking for over 15 years and trying numerous ways to give up, one session of hypnotherapy was all that was needed to help me quit the habit. It was around this time that I met my wife. Years later hypnotherapy was again to play a significant part in my life. My wife gave birth to both our sons with minimal medicinal pain relief, preferring to harness the power of hypnotherapy taught to us during our hypnobirthing course instead.
I wasn’t sure what my next career move would be, but I knew I still wanted to help people to make positive changes to their lives. In a chance conversation with my dad I recalled the experiences of hypnotherapy that had had such a positive effect on my life. It wasn’t long before I made the decision to train as a hypnotherapist.
With time and practise my anxiety became more manageable. I’d given myself hope. During my training I became more and more amazed at the versatility of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and its effectiveness in helping people with a variety of anxiety related conditions to thrive. I loved how the conversations I had with my clients changed as we progressed with their therapy. Due to the amazing change I witnessed with these early clients I knew I’d found my new career and made the decision to work towards becoming a full time therapist.
I now know that I’ve found my vocation. In marketing speech I’ve found my ‘Why’. I’ve completed my journey from feeling trapped, anxious and full of self doubt to being to able to look forward to each day with positivity.
I’d love to be given the opportunity to support you while you go on the same adventure.
